About Me

Hi this is Sarah! Thanks for taking the time to look at this creation of mine.

I'm 23 and as the name of my blog suggests, like a lot of people I sometimes feel like a little fish in a big ole pond! I guess there are a lot reasons for this, but here's just a couple examples:

1. I'm literally small!!!! I'm 5'2 on most days maybe 5'3 when I stretch out my little spine.

2. I live in south Florida...where everyone's in a rush, English in most places is the second language, and the cities are a strange mix of young partiers, and old timers living out their retirement scaring the rest of us with their lack of driving abilities.

I recently finished college and I'm trying to work my way through becoming....a "grown up" which includes many stories, both funny and maybe a little scary. I live with my boyfriend Kevin, or should I say he lives with me??? However you want to say it, we have been together for over six years now. That's right folks, we met in high school physics class (I had the better grade). He's almost done with school as well and we can't wait to get the next chapters rolling. I can admit it, I'm a chore to live with, considering I have officially self diagnosed myself with OCD. He'll never fess up to  it, but it's one of the reasons he finds me just so irresistible (I'm sure he'll get a good chuckle out of this).

As a consequence of living in a community of millions down here so close to sunny Miami, you see quite a bit of, lets just say....interesting behavior. It's this crazy point of view that makes me think about my own life; how did I get here, what do I want for the future, and about all the funny stories that have made me into the person I am now.

One thing that I have learned about myself is that I'm much better at writing about life than talking about it, which is why I created this blog. This isn't a space about how to get big sexy hair, or picking the right shade of lip gloss for your skin color because to be honest I know diddly squat about those things (and have failed miserably at attempting them). A lot of blogs tend to be labeled into categories (i.e., mommy blogs, food blogs, craft blogs, beauty blogs) and though I hate labels, I wish I could give you one. The truth of the matter is that I don't feel like I fit into any particular category. I'm somewhere in the label limbo that happens after finishing school and before getting married and having a family, which means my life is full of all kinds of new experiences and realizations. So I'm going to talk about all of them!!

Some of my passions include:
Food, food, food!!!
Photography
Nature
Being neurotic
Being pale
Using the creative side of my brain

What you can be sure to find here is a discussion about the things that make you smile when your thinking about them in your head, the things that make life more beautiful, and hopefully the things that make all of us small fish seem connected somehow. Oh, and lots and lots of run on sentences, bad punctuation, and pictures of food. So lets talk life people!!

Whats that "Tasty Sundays" tab about?
Sundays for me have always been dedicated to relaxing and of course EATING. Growing up my mom had a hot meal on the table every night no matter what, but Sundays were for those meals that made you fall asleep full and happy at night. It was a day reserved for opening up the house windows, turning up the radio, and cooking barefoot in the kitchen. Being woken up by the smell of bacon wafting up the stairs into your bedroom always seemed to cushion the thought that it was the last day of the weekend.

I have a special place in my heart for my grandmother and mothers recipes. There is always a list of favorites I have to give to my mom to make when I go home to visit. Although I love them, some of these recipes are a little much for me to make on a weekly basis, especially for just Kevin and I, so I'm always looking new ideas that are quick and easy.

Be sure to check the "Tasty Sundays" tab out every Sunday to see what recipe I posted for the week. I'll be sure to include step by step directions and pictures just in case you want to try making it for yourself next Sunday. Happy eating!
